Weapon smuggling attempt foiled in Kupwara, 03 rifles, 04 pistols recovered

 


Press Trust Of Kashmir |Kupwara : Police on Saturday claimed to have foiled an attempt by militants to smuggle weapons while recovering a huge quantity of ammunition in Kupwara district.

 

 

An official said that Kupwara police along with Army in an operation at the forward Jabfi Tangdhar sector in Kupwara foiled the attempt of militants by recovering ammunition

 

Three AK-47 rifles, six magazines, four pistols and nine magazines have been recovered from the spot and search operation is going on

 

Kashmir police zone tweeted “Kupwara Police & Army in an ops at the fowrad Jabdi Tangdhar Sector Kupwara today thwarted an attempt by #terrorists to #smuggle weapons. 03 AK-47 rifles & 06 magazines and 04 pistols & 9 magazines have been recovered from the spot. Search in the area is going on,”(PTK).

JAMMU, MAY 29: A mega Parent Teacher Meet (PTM) was organized by more than 10 thousand government schools of Jammu Division through virtual mode amid the COVID restrictions and in adherence to guidelines and closure of educational institutions.

The teachers were oriented in advance about the issues to be discussed with parents like COVID SoPs, performance/attendance of learners in online classes to mitigate the academic loss, following physical and mental wellness routines/advisories issued by counselling and Fit India cell, academic mentoring for those who are in no network areas via tele-counselling helpline (6006800068) and assistance of parents in providing date of learners for Post Matric Scholarships etc.

Pertinent to mention here that the virtual event was a huge success as parents/guardians joined the interactive session in large numbers. The PTM, which is a monthly exercise, was attended and coordinated by HOIs, Teachers, DNOs, DCCs, ZCCs, PTF members.

Director School Education Jammu welcomed the commitment shown by HOIs, teachers and parents who participated in virtual meet and added that such meetings are necessary to keep all stakeholders motivated. Vigilant and informed parents can encourage their wards to invest time in virtual learning till the schools reopen, he further added.(PTK)
