Slain militants involved in killing of Sarpanch Sameer Bhat

Press Trust of Kashmir| Srinagar:- Three militants were killed in a gunfight between government forces in Nowgam area Srinagar on Wednesday.

A senior police officer sald that three unidentified militants have been killed whose identification is being ascertained while as search operation is on in the area.

They added that a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

As forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight, they added.

Meanwhile IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that slain were affiliated with LeT and were involved in killing of Sarpanch Sameer Bhat of Khonmoh.:-PTK
