Srinagar Police Arrests 4 Drug Peddlers, Contraband Recovered in Separate Operations
Srinagar, April 10 (PTK): Continuing its relentless crackdown against drug peddling, Srinagar Police on Thursday apprehended four individuals involved in narcotics trafficking and recovered contraband substances from their possession in two separate operations.
In the first instance, a police team from OCAPS Police Station Soura, during a routine checkpoint at Shalbaf Mohalla, intercepted a motorcycle (Discover) without a number plate carrying two individuals. The accused have been identified as:

Khalid Nazir Chelu, son of Nazir Ahmad, resident of Umer Colony B Lal Bazar

Umer Mushtaq Bhat, son of Mushtaq Ahmad, resident of Dar Mohalla, Awanta Bhawan Soura
Upon search, a substantial quantity of cannabis powder (charas-like substance) was recovered from their possession. The motorcycle used in the commission of the crime has been seized.
In another operation, a police team from Police Station Zakoora, at a checkpoint on Wanihama Link Road, stopped a load carrier (JK01BA-0654) with two individuals on board. They were identified as:

Kawnser Mehdi Teli, son of Mohammad Ayoob Teli, resident of Merakshah Colony

Sahil Ahmad Shaikh, son of Sana-Ula-Shaikh, resident of Batpora Hazratbal
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of charas-like substance concealed on the dashboard.
All four accused have been taken into custody, and cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at the respective police stations. Investigations are underway.
