Shopian encounter:- Three militants killed, ops on

Shopian March. 22 (PTK) Three militants have been killed during an encounter that started in the Manihal area of Imam Sahib in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.

Officials said that during a gun battle, three unidentified Militants were killed and the search operation in the area is still going on.

They said that the identity of the Militants is yet to be confirmed.

Earlier an official said that a joint team of 34 Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF following an input of Militant movement launched a cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the area.

“As the team of forces proceeded towards the suspected spot, the militants hiding in the area fired upon them from a house,” the official said.

The Forces retaliated to the firing and this resulted in a massive exchange of gunfire, the official said.

He said that during the exchange of gunfire, three unidentified Militants were killed. “Their bodies are yet to be retrieved,” the official said. (PTK)
