Security Review Meeting Focuses on Ensuring Peaceful Elections in Jammu

 

 

JAMMU : In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the Jammu constituency, a crucial security review meeting was convened on Monday to strategize ensuring a safe and conducive environment for voters. Chaired by Senior Superintendent of Police (Jammu) Vinod Kumar at the district police lines, the meeting addressed various aspects vital for the smooth conduct of elections.

 

With the Jammu parliamentary seat scheduled for polls in the second phase on April 26, discussions centered on deployment and coordination of security personnel to safeguard polling stations, election officials, and voters. Stringent security protocols were emphasized to prevent any untoward incidents or disruptions during the electoral process.

 

Collaboration with relevant authorities and stakeholders to address emerging security challenges and threats was also highlighted. Maintaining law and order, vigilance against electoral malpractice, and ensuring the integrity of the electoral process were key focal points of the deliberations.

 

Additionally, the meeting delved into various policing aspects, including quality investigation of cases, crime disposal, and handling of cases related to narcotics, unlawful activities, inquest proceedings, absconding, and missing persons. Senior officials emphasized the importance of accountable policing and directed officers to ensure both quantitative and qualitative disposal of cases under investigation.

 

Senior Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar underscored the significance of swift response coupled with compassionate and respectful behavior towards the public while addressing their concerns. He emphasized the role of the police force in upholding the democratic process and ensuring the safety and security of citizens during the election period.

 

As the electoral process unfolds, the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold peace and facilitate fair elections remains paramount, reflecting the core principles of democracy and governance.
