DC reviews progress of PMGSY, PWD roads in Udhampur District.
UDHAMPUR, OCTOBER 21(PTK): Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Ananth Dwivedi today convened a meeting with concerned officers to review the status and progress of PMGSY road projects and those being constructed by the Public Works Department (PWD) in the district.The DC undertook a comprehensive review of road works, covering their stages of execution, physical and financial progress, completed and ongoing projects, pending works and bottlenecks.He directed the concerned officers to expedite execution, mobilise adequate field staff and ensure the achievement of targets within the stipulated timelines. He instructed the executing agencies to immediately resume all stalled road projects, identify damaged road stretches and undertake necessary restoration and temporary remedial measures without delay.The SDMs and Tehsildars were directed to identify roads in dilapidated condition and submit reports on their status. The ARTO was instructed to conduct vehicle audits, carry out random checks and undertake regular inspections.
The DC directed the officers to remove bottlenecks hindering project implementation and ensure regular monitoring of ongoing works. He also stressed the need to protect existing public utilities and minimise inconvenience to the general public during road construction and maintenance activities.(PTK)
