Rajouri Administration Extends Support to Orphan Boxer Yasir Selected for International Event

Rajouri, May 07 (PTK): In a significant initiative under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, the District Administration Rajouri has extended financial assistance to a young orphan boxer, Yasir, who has been selected to represent India at an international boxing event in Uzbekistan.

The support was extended under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma as part of efforts to encourage local sports talent and inspire youth through positive engagement.

Yasir, despite facing difficult socio-economic conditions and personal hardships, has emerged as a symbol of determination and resilience. Currently residing with his family in modest conditions near the Sports Stadium Rajouri, the young athlete has earned recognition for his achievements in boxing and brought pride to the district.

Recognising his dedication and potential, the district administration initiated measures to assist him in pursuing his sporting aspirations at the international level.

In response, the Animal Husbandry Department, under the guidance of Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Khalid Najeeb Khan, extended financial support to the boxer.

The assistance was provided in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Sikarwar, District Social Welfare Officer Abdul Rahim and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Dr. Shah Riaz Ahmed Chowdhary.

The District Administration reiterated its commitment towards supporting talented youth, especially those overcoming socio-economic challenges, and appealed to society to come forward in uplifting and encouraging such inspiring individuals.(PTK)
