Police Take Action Against Facebook Page Admin Following Complaint

SRINAGAR: In response to a formal complaint, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken action against a Facebook page admin, Mudasir Bashir Bhat, also known as Mudasir Aziz.

According to sources, an FIR (First Information Report) has been filed against Mudasir Bashir Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat, residing in Khayam, Srinagar. The FIR, numbered 8/2024, lists charges under sections 341 (Wrongful Restraint), 354 (Sexual Assault), 499 (Defamation), and 506 (Criminal Intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The complaint, lodged by a woman associated with the NGO ‘Smile Foundation,’ alleges misconduct by the Facebook page admin. Investigations into the matter have commenced, with authorities diligently pursuing further details.
