Police Seizes Seven Tractors During Crackdown on Illegal Mining in Awantipora
Awantipora, May 14 (PTK): Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday seized seven tractors during separate actions against illegal mining and unauthorised extraction of minerals in Awantipora.
Officials said that during routine patrolling, Police Station Tral detected illegal mining activities in the Gamraz area of Tral and seized four tractors involved in unauthorised mineral extraction on the spot.
In another action, Police Post Reshipora seized three additional tractors allegedly involved in illegal mining activities in the Reshipora area.
Police stated that the crackdown forms part of the ongoing drive against illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in the region.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against illegal mining activities and appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting such unlawful practices to the nearest police establishment.(PTK)
