Police arrests 03 drug peddlers in Ganderbal and Bandipora; Contraband substance recovered

Press Trust Of Kashmir October 17: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 03 drug peddlers in Ganderbal & Bandipora and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Police party of Police Station Kangan at a checkpoint established at Iqbal Abad Kangan, arrested a drug peddler identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Jagal son of Nazir Ahmad Jagal resident of Naranag, Kangan. During search, contraband substance was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Similarly in Bandipora, officers from Police Post Nowgam at a checkpoint established on Tularzoo Gunchipora Road arrested two drug peddlers identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Wani son of Mohd Yousuf Wani and Nayeem Ahmad Zargar son of Gh Rasool Zargar, both residents of Pattan. During search, 7.5 kgs of Charas was recovered from their possession.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective Police stations and investigations have been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
