PTK Reports
Delhi’s Patiala House Court has granted custody parole to MP Rashid Engineer, allowing him a two-hour window to take his oath as a Member of Parliament on July 5.
Rashid Engineer had sought interim bail or custody parole specifically for the purpose of taking his parliamentary oath. The court, considering his request, has permitted him a brief parole period to fulfill this essential constitutional duty.
The decision underscores the balance between legal obligations and parliamentary responsibilities, ensuring that elected representatives can perform their duties while under legal scrutiny. Rashid Engineer will be able to take his oath in Parliament, thereby commencing his official term as an MP, within the stipulated timeframe provided by the court.
