Non disbursement of wages for daily wagers on Eid inhuman: Kadfeen

Srinagar, (PTK) : Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Wednesday has demanded the disbursement of wages in favour of thousands of daily wagers and casual labourers working in various government departments in Jammu and Kashmir.

Kadfeen has said that in view of the Eid festival, the government recently came up with an order for the disbursement of salaries in advance for the government employees. However, said Kadfeen, the authorities remained silent on the wages of daily wagers who in thousands haven’t received their wages for months all together.

He added that it was inhuman on part of the government to downplay the hardships of these people and leave them at the mercy of the situation. Kadfeen said that Eid just three days away, there has been no concrete effort made by the government to address the issue of non- disbursement of wages in favour of the daily wagers and casual labours.

Kadfeen demanded that immediate measures should be taken by the authorities and departments should be directed to disburse the pending wages of the daily wagers and casual labourers. “Apart from seeing their wages being delayed, there has been no action vis-a-vis the regularisation of these workers. It is ironic to find the government’s indifferent attitude towards this lot. Holistic view on these hardships is what we expect from the government,” Kadfeen said.
