NCC Directorate organizing Uttrakhand Trek for NCC cadets

Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar :- NCC Directorate is organizing Uttrakhand Trek for NCC cadets for seven different directorates

An official said that NCC Directorate Uttarakhand is organising Uttarakhand Trek for NCC cadets of seven different NCC directorates. A total of 510 Cadets and 15 ANOs are participating in the Uttarakhand

Trek.

Nine NCC cadets from AGS Margund have left today to take part in the UK Trek, he said.

Trek is planned to be conducted in the Kumaon Region. The trek will commence from Ranibagh and culminate at Ranibagh itself, he added.

Ranibagh is situated at the foothills of Kumaon at a height of about 600 meters, in the green pastures of Tarai, and is approx 3 km from the railhead at Kathgodam, he added

The trek has been planned in such a way that it will enable Cadets to see and visit some of the most scenic places in the Kumaon hills, he said.

It will provide the Cadets a unique opportunity to view the majestic peaks and also give them an insight into the culture, traditions, customs and, lifestyle of the people of Kumaon, he added.

The aim of the Trek is to promote National Integration by living together and getting accustomed to customs and food habits of different regions/states and to inculcate the spirit of adventure, exploration and inquisitiveness, and practical navigation amongst the Cadets, he added.

The NCC cadets of the AGS Margund expressed thier happiness on being selected to take part in the trek, as they will get an opportunity to witness different culture and customs, he said.:-PTK.
