Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign Gains Momentum Across Shopian

Shopian, May 09 (PTK): Hundreds of awareness and outreach programmes were organised across Shopian on Friday under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, witnessing active participation from students, youth, teachers, religious leaders, cooperative society members, government departments and civil society representatives.

The day-long campaign featured pledge ceremonies, awareness rallies, sports activities, yoga sessions, poster campaigns, painting and counselling sessions, seminars, debates and public interaction programmes aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a drug-free society.

Educational institutions across the district organised anti-drug awareness talks, sports events and special assembly sessions to encourage students towards positive and healthy lifestyles.

Members of cooperative societies, lambardars and other frontline workers also participated in outreach activities conducted in marketplaces, shops, petrol pumps, playgrounds and other public spaces.

Special awareness drives were additionally carried out by various government departments including Rural Development Department, Revenue, Poshan Projects, R&B, Fisheries, AYUSH, Information, Cooperative, Transport and Agriculture allied departments as part of the campaign.

Officials said the campaign witnessed an overwhelming public response and reflected the collective resolve of both the administration and society to build a safer, healthier and drug-free Shopian through sustained awareness, prevention and community participation.(PTK)
