Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to Lead Friday Prayers at Jamia Masjid After Four Weeks

Srinagar, Oct 04: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will lead Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid today after a four-week gap, the Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid said in a statement on Friday.

The religious organization informed that authorities have lifted the restrictions placed on the Mirwaiz since September 2. “Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will deliver his Friday sermon at Jamia Masjid today, inshallah,” the statement added.

It is noteworthy that the Mirwaiz had filed a plea in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court challenging his house detention, with the hearing scheduled for today.
