Markets witness huge rush ahead of school re-opening

SRINAGAR, MAR 10 (PTK): Ahead of school re-opening tomorrow, markets of Kashmir valley are witnessing huge rush with parents busy in buying school essentials for their kids.

The markets of Srinagar which were shut for couple of days last week remained open this Sunday. The markets remained abuzz as large number of people were seen busy in buying school uniforms, tiffin boxes and other stationary products.

Shop owners of Lal Chowk, the commercial hub of the city remained busy with customers while witnessing gravy footfall. “We were not able to have lunch today as we remained busy in dealing with customer who were coming every minute,” a uniform shipowner said.

The popular Sunday Market which remains open only on Sunday saw a massive footfall of shoppers. Thousands of people who have came from different parts of valley were seen buying water bottles, tiffin boxes, bags and other stationary items there.

While talking to PTK, number of people complained about high pricing of school uniforms especially school shoes.

The shopkeepers selling school uniforms said that they themselves get product fot high rates. “We ourselves get products for high rates and we keep a little  profit for ourselves,” said a shop owner.
