Kashmiri Pandit Conference Appeals to Government to Address Dire Living Conditions in KP Colony
Srinagar, July 1: Kundan Kashmiri, President of the Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC), has urged the government to take immediate action to improve the deplorable living conditions in KP Colony, Odina, Bandipora.
According to Kundan Kashmiri, residents of the colony, comprising employees under the Prime Minister’s package, face severe hardships due to neglect and inadequate infrastructure. The colony lacks proper sanitation and waste management, leading to significant garbage accumulation and serious health risks. Additionally, many families struggle with inconsistent water supply, jeopardizing their health and daily lives.
Safety concerns are also a major issue, as the lack of adequate street lighting and deteriorating road conditions exacerbate commuting challenges, especially during adverse weather conditions.
Kundan Kashmiri has appealed to the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir to personally intervene by visiting the colony along with the Relief Commissioner, Jammu, and the Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, to witness the challenges firsthand and facilitate prompt action.
Kashmiri emphasized that swift attention is essential to alleviate the hardships faced by the community’s PM package employees and their families, ensuring a dignified living environment for those who serve the nation.
