JKNC Reiterates Commitment to Address Reservation Issue Amid Protests: CM

Srinagar December 22 (PTK) light of growing concerns over the reservation policy in Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has reassured the public of its commitment to resolving the issue through due process. A cabinet sub-committee, constituted as part of the party’s election manifesto promise, has begun its work to engage with all stakeholders and address the concerns surrounding the policy.

The matter, currently under judicial review in the Hon’ble High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, will be resolved in accordance with the final legal judgment, the government stated.

A protest planned in Srinagar highlights the public’s sense of injustice over the policy. Speaking on the matter, JKNC leaders acknowledged the democratic right to peaceful protest but assured citizens that the issue is neither being ignored nor swept under the carpet.

“The government is committed to ensuring a fair decision by completing the necessary process and making sure all voices are heard,” the statement read. Citizens have been urged to trust the ongoing efforts and await a resolution that balances justice and inclusivity.

This development underscores the government’s commitment to addressing the reservation issue with sensitivity and responsibility.(PTK)
