Ruhullah Mehdi Calls for Protest Outside CM’s Office Over Reservation Policy

Srinagar, December 22 (PTK) Ruhullah Mehdi, Member of Parliament, reaffirmed his commitment to standing with citizens demanding rational reforms in the reservation policy. In a statement shared today, Mehdi highlighted his earlier pledge to join protests if the government failed to address the issue by December 22.

In response to growing concerns over the effectiveness of the sub-committee formed by the government, Mehdi announced his decision to join a peaceful protest scheduled for 2:00 PM tomorrow at Gupkar Road, outside the Chief Minister’s residential office.

“I stand by my commitment. Tomorrow, I will join the people in a peaceful and dignified attempt to demand answers from the government,” Mehdi stated, urging participants to maintain civility and focus on genuine demands.

Addressing political exploitation of the issue, he challenged those involved to move beyond rhetoric and show their sincerity by standing with the people on the ground.

The protest comes amid ongoing debates over the reservation policy, with various groups expressing dissatisfaction over the lack of concrete measures. The government’s response to tomorrow’s demonstration remains to be seen.(PTK)
