Press Trust of Kashmir| Srinagar/ Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has expressed concern over the plea of old aged and senior citizens who are in a multiplex troubled situation after the lot have been asked to produce various kinds of documents for the eligibility of various beneficiary schemes like old age pension etc.
In a statement issued here Society chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani giving the example of beneficiaries of Tral area of Pulwama district, they have been subjected to go from pillar to post for obtaining such documents like death certificate of relatives. Chairman Wani qouted news reports that most old beneficiaries had been illitrate and had no records of their birth dates anywhere in schools and now no department was ready to assess their age as everybody’s responsibilty was nobodys responsibility.
JKCSF has vehemently urged govt to assign the responsibilty of ‘assessment and preparation’ of such age and eligibilty related documents to a single department only so that these senior citizens who happen to be sick may not have face complex troubles and frustration. That will be the real help and rehabilitation to these senior needy citizens. :- PTK
