Illegal parking in DH B’Pora irk patients, affects ambulance movement
SUHAIL RATHER
Bandipora, Feb 11: The illegal parking on the road leading to the District Hospital Bandipora and inside the premises of the hospital is causing great inconvenience to the patient care and the movement of ambulance at the time of emergency. However, the administration seems least bothered about the issue.
As the hospital is surrounded by several government offices and schools, the officials and the visitors park their vehicle on the road that leads to the hospital thus blocking the movement of ambulances at the time of emergency.
An eyewitness said that some days ago a car was parked just near the gate and an ambulance carrying a pregnant lady was stranded for about 10 minutes who was to be referred to Srinagar. Locals said such a situation can lead to death of a patient sometimes if the issue is not taken seriously. “People park car on road and then leave. Imagine if there is an emergency and an ambulance way gets blocked? ” remarked a local Mohsin.
Though the Hospital authorities seems to be least bothered about the issue and has not raised the issue till now before any competent authority, Municipal Committee Bandipora officials said that they would hold a drive and would try to decongest the road from the vehicles.
Locals appeal the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to intervene into the matter to resolve the issue at earliest.
