Gunfight Erupts Between Militants and Security Forces in Udhampur District

Jammu, August: A gunfight erupted between militants and security forces in the Khaned area of Basanthgarh in Udhampur district on Tuesday.

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Udhampur informed via the social media platform X, “After specific input was gleaned regarding movement in the area, a SADO was launched in the early hours today by our parties; contact has been established with a group of terrorists in Khaned area of PS Basanthgarh. Ops underway,” reads the post.

According to sources, the security forces have cordoned off the area, and the operation is ongoing. Further details will follow soon.
