Friend of Rizwan killed in ‘forces custody’ joins militant ranks, shares audio

SRINAGAR, (PTK): Friend of slain principal who died during forces custody has reportedly joined militant ranks and has posted an audio message on social media announcing that he has joined militant ranks.

Calling himself friend of slain Rizwan, Shahid Manzoor son of Manzoor Ahmad a resident of New Colony Awanitpora has posted an audio message along with a photo on social media announcing that he has joined ranks after his friend got killed in forces custody.

“We ( Shahid and Rizwan ) have been arrested earlier and were lodged in Awanitpora police station where police tortured us. Fake charges we lodged against us and were slapped with PSA. When I heard about arrest of my ‘beloved friend’ Rizwan, I went on hiding. Soon I saw news regarding killing of my friend in forces custody, I went to join militant ranks as I knew same incident that today happened with my friend is going to happen with me tomorrow. Police tortured us not only physically but mentally too. If don’t fear physical torture but the abusive language that they ( forces ) use against us is unbearable.” said Shahid in the audio.

He added that, “Today people are protesting and demanding justice while government is claiming that they will punish the guilty but I know nothing is going to happen, no inquiry will take place and no one is going to get punished.Has inquiry of Asiya-Neolofer case taken place till now ? Those who are thinking thay government will provide justice to Rizwan are going through an illusion.”

“I used to think that those picking up arms are wasting their lives but today I realized that I had an misunderstanding and the solution left for us is only gun and Jihad. You need to become like Adil Dar  ( suicide bomber ) if you want to see your future generations free from this oppression.” he added.

Asking his parents for forgiveness he said that I also wanted to live but I had no options left without taking arms. “I know my life will be short but for this time I will a life of honour.” he ended with.

After the deadly militant attack on CRPF convoy in Lethpora, Pulwama which left around 40 CRPF personnels dead, the security agencies feared the rise in militant recruitments mostly in Jaish-e-Mohammad group as the feared militancy will attract more youth towards it. Since the attack, more than ten Jaish militants have got killed including some commanders but dispite this, two youth have posted pics announcing joining militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad.

Pertinently, a private school principal Rizwan Ahmad died during forces custody two days back. It’s believed that security agencies are knowing the authenticity of the audio. (PTK)
