For corporal punishment to students, two teachers suspended in Kupwara
4 member committee constituted to conduct enquiry
Press Trust Of Kashmir Srinagar Nov 06:– Deputy Commissioner Kupwara has suspended two teachers for allegedly giving corporal punishment to students in a government school in Kralpora zone of the district.
“Gh. Mohammad Lone S/o Abdul Khaliq R/o Bundnamal alongwith his wife & three school going children approached to this office with a written complaint regarding corporal punishment by the teachers namely Mr. Shaukat Ahmad Lone & Mr. Naseer Ahmad Lone Teachers UPS Gampora Budanamal Zone Kralpora and preliminary enquiry was conducted into the matter and prima facially it appears that the matter is a case of corporal punishment and needs to be enquired into thoroughly.” Reads an order issued by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara.
“In view of the above, pending enquiry into the matter, Mr. Shaukat Ahmad Lone & Mr. Naseer Ahmad Lone Teachers UPS Gampora Budanamal Zone Kralpora are hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect.” It adds.
“In the meantime, a Committee comprising following officers is hereby constituted to conduct a thorough enquiry into the matter & come-up with a factual report along with specific comments /remarks within 10 days for further course of action into the matter.” It added
The officers as per order includes District Social Welfare Officer, Kupwara, Tehsildar Kralpora, Zonal Education Officer Kralpora and SHO Kralpora.
