Every vehicle without HSRP to be seized in Ladakh after 15 July
Srinagar July 04 (PTK) All vehicles without High Security Registeration to be seized in Ladakh post 15th of July.
“Driving Vehicle in any public place without High Security Number Plate (HSRP) as prescribed in Rule 50 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules read with Ministry of Road Transport and Highway Notification dated 06.12.2018, is violation of Section 39 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (hereinafter referred as Act) and is liable to be seized under section 207 of the Act and shall be punishable under section 192 (1) of the Act with a fine of minimum Rs.2000/- which can go up to Rs.5000/= and for second or subsequent offence with imprisonment which can extend to one year or fine of minimum Rs.5000/= which can go up to Rs.10000/= or both.” Reads the advisory a copy of which lies with PTK.
Therefore, in view of aforesaid provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and rules made thereunder by the Government and directives issued by Hon’ble Supreme Court making affixation of High Security Registration Plates mandatory for all vehicles, general public is hereby informed through the medium of this notice that non-affixation of High Security Registration Plate on any kind of vehicle shall invoke penalties under Motor vehicle Act, 1988 including Suspension of Registration Certificate and seizure of the motor vehicle w.e.f 15th July, 2022, it added.
