Encounter breaks out in Kulgam

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR Srinagar july 27 : An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Brayihard Kathpora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

An official said that a joint of team of police and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.

“Encounter has started at Brayihard Kathpora area of #Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.” Kashmir Police Zone tweeted.
