Delhi Court Defers Bail Hearing of Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid

Delhi: A Delhi Court has deferred the bail hearing of Sheikh Abdul Rashid, the Baramulla MP widely known as Engineer Rashid, to November 19. Initially listed for today, the hearing was postponed to allow the court to deliberate on jurisdictional matters. The court is assessing whether the case will be heard here or transferred to the designated MP/MLA court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Engineer Rashid, whose interim bail expired today, has surrendered himself at Tihar Jail. The decision on jurisdiction will be pivotal in determining the course of the case, which is being closely monitored by legal observers.
