DC Samba inaugurates District Mining Information and Facilitation Centre
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 08: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta today inaugurated District Mining Information and Facilitation Centre in the office of District Mineral officer Samba.
After inaugurating the District Facilitation Centre/Counter, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the District Mineral Officer Samba, Mohd Sayeed for being innovative in taking steps to address the public grievances with regard to establishing a fully dedicated felicitation centre in the premises of DC office Complex.
It is pertinent to mention that recently Chief Secretary J&K, inaugurated website http://geologymining.jk.gov.in as dedicated portal for e-market place and e- challans for the department under e-governance initiative.
The Deputy Commissioner Samba laid emphasis upon making all possible efforts for the convenience of general public and use of online portal of Geology and Mining department for the purchase of minor minerals through e-market place only, which have an automatic check on the sale rate as fixed by government which will result into availability of material at reasonable rates to end consumers. DC stressed upon enforcement of advisories for a proper check on the sustainable mining activities in a Legal and controlled manner in the district.

The DMO Samba, while informing about the initiative, said that under the District Mining Information and Facilitation Centre a dedicated window has been opened for the convenience of General public at large as well as for the daily visitors, this facility now have proper receipt, dispatch, complaints, grievances, and counter for service deliveries like compounding, challans and seizures etc.
He said that the felicitation centre will work as Information Desk for public seeking assistance, delivery of services of the department and soon a round the clock dedicated phone line will be made available.
Further, the DMO Samba also informed all the services of Geology and Mining and Geology Department are now available on the portal http://geologyminingjk.com including Applications for STP/DP, Grant of Lease for private, New lease, Grant of MDL, Monthly returns, Annual Returns, Renewal of MDL etc
