DC discusses measures with Stakeholders to promote Elder Line service in Samba
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SAMBA, OCTOBER 12: To make the functioning of National Helpline for Senior Citizens, Elder Line 14567 (implemented by Help Age India in J&K), smooth and effective in the district, a meeting of officers and stakeholders was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta, here in the DC office.
During the proceedings, stakeholders were sensitised about their role and responsibilities by Project Manager, Help Age India and Field Response Officer Samba.
It was informed that the senior citizens who are in need of assistance can call on toll free number 14567 daily from 8 AM to 8 PM.

Moreover, the issues faced by the elderly citizens and mechanism for their prompt redressal was also discussed threadbare.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Abhishek Mahajan, SDMs, DSWO, CMO, DIO, Tehsildars representative of the Social Welfare Department and officials from other line departments.
