DC B’pora hands-over Sports items to YS&S officers for Gurez Youth under SSY
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 18: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Friday handed over sports items to the Officers of Youth Services and Sports for the youth of Gurez under Seema Samridhi Yojna (SSY).
The DC handed over a large quantity of sports items including footballs, football shoes, Volleyballs, Table Tennis Bats, Basketball Posts, Basket Balls, Badminton, Badminton Nets and other equipments.
The items were received by ZPEO Gurez for their utilization at Dawar, Tulail, Bagtore and other areas of Gurez.
The items will be made available for the youngsters in Gurez valley so that they spent their leisure time in sports activities.

The DC said that the district administration is keen to develop sports infrastructure in the district especially in Gurez that remains cut-off during winter owing to heavy snow in the areas.
He urged the youngsters of the Gurez valley to spend time in sports activities for their overall development.
He said under different schemes, not only the play fields are being developed in every village but sports items are also distributed among the sports clubs of different villages besides numerous tournaments are organised.
Dr. Owais on the occasion highlighted the Government’s commitment towards the goal of providing a better quality of life to the citizens living in border areas.
Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Officers and officials of Youth Service and Sports Officer and In-Charge Activities Nasir Hussain were also present on the occasion.
