Cracks in DDC council in Srinagar, Chairman seat likely to go in BJP’s Kitty
Srinagar, June 03 (PTK):– Cracks have started developing in District Development Council Srinagar as few DDC members from Nishat belt of Srinagar are likely to withdraw their support to Apni Party candidate.
Top sources told Press Trust of Kashmir, several DDC members are in favour of a no-confidence motion against the incumbent DDC Chairman of Apni Party Aftab Malik. They said that independent DDC members are likely to support BJP DDC member Er Aijaz Ahmad who created history by winning DDC seat on BJP ticket.
They further added that the incumbent DDC Chairman has failed to deliver on-ground and the council hasn’t met since last six months. They said that people of Kashmir are going through tough times and if elected DDCs won’t work in such a situation, then for what they have been elected.

Official sources privy to the development said that nine DDC members have already written to District Magistrate Srinagar for submission of non confidence motion against the incumbent DDC chairman. “With due respect and regards it is submitted to your good self that Malik Aftab Chairman DDC Srinagar is a passive and is not working actively since the inception of being Chairman DDC even a single meeting has been conducted resulting all the developmental works are in ruin and rust resulting the whole vicinity is suffering, reads the letter a copy of which lies with PTK
“Sir it is worth to mention here that Chairman DDC Srinagar has been elected for the development of vicinity but the above captioned DDC Chairman has indulged and cheated in whole,” It adds
“So it is as such requested that kindly do the needful and nullified the above captioned DDC Chairman and conduct a fresh election shall be conducted so that the honest and active DDC chairman be elected so that the vicinity may not face any problem that will be your most kindness and oblige,” It adds further

The members who have written to District Magistrate includeAli Mohd Rather (DDC Member Harwan-2), Mohd Shaban Chopan (DDC Member Harwan-6), Rizwana Akhrter (DDC Member Harwan-5), Kaiser Ahmad Ganie (DDC Member Harwan-3) , Mohd Yaseen Rather (DDC Member Panzinara ), Manzoor Ahmad Bhat (DDC Member Khonmoh),Afrooza Bano (DDC Member Lasjan), Bilal Ahmad Bhat (DDC Member Nowgam) and Shaista Aslam (DDC Member Harwan-1)

Notably, it will be history if, DDC council Srinagar will get the chairman from BJP. Some members said that party doesn’t matter, what matters is work and they believe that Er Aijaz of BJP has the potential to work for the development of the Srinagar. On contacting Er Aijaz Ahmad, he said that he isn’t aware about the development and has no information in this regard. (PTK)
