Bandipora, 11 March (PTK): The residents and traders of Bandipora district alleged that administration has failed to remove garbage from roads particularly in main town Bandipora.
They said that garbage has piled up and even cow dung can be seen smeared on the roads as the local municipal committee authorities have failed to maintain and upkeep cleanliness of these roads in the town.
They said that similar scenes can be witnessed on Srinagar-Bandipora and Sopora-Bandipora roads as well because of the callous attitude of the local administration towards cleanliness of the roads.
“On either sides of the road from Ashtangoo to Kaloosa and Safapora to Papchan heaps of garbage including cow dung is dumped by the residents on a daily basis, which emanates foul smell. It has made daily commuting on these roads very difficult, ” said a local resident, Irshad Ahmad.
Locals said that even bio-medical waste by few medical stores is dumped on the road sides in main market Bandipora as the administration has failed to act against them.
They appealed the district development commissioner Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza to personally look into the matter and help resolve this problem at the earliest.(PTK)
