Chief Engineer Beacon I K Jaggi Visited Jawahar Tunnel Today

Banihal October 29(PTK): Beacon project has undertaken renovation of the Jawahar Tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and restore it as a Smart and Intelligent Tunnel.

BEACON has outsourced the Jawahar Tunnel project to Beigh Construction Company, a local construction company in Banihal.

Chief Engineer Beacon IK Jaggi visited Jawahar Tunnel today to review the work started on the project. He was accompanied by BCC Managing Director Imran Baig and Beacon top officials.

Speaking to reporters on the occasion, Chief engineer IK Jaggi said that the Jawahar Tunnel is being upgraded to a modern tunnel and the six-decade-old Jawahar Tunnel will now emerge as a tourist destination too. He said that modern system of monitoring, fire fighting and exhaust system would be introduced inside the tunnel and an amount of around Rs. 80 crore would be spent on it.(PTK).
