BJP MP Anurag Thakur Accuses Omar Abdullah of Defending Terrorist Afzal Guru

In a sharp political attack, BJP MP Anurag Thakur accused Omar Abdullah, leader of the National Conference, of siding with terrorists as election pressures mount. Thakur alleged that Abdullah’s recent reference to Afzal Guru, the mastermind behind the 2001 Parliament attack, indicates the National Conference and Congress foresee electoral defeat.

Thakur stated, “Omar Abdullah can see his defeat, that’s why he is remembering Afzal Guru. What is forcing Congress and the National Conference to remember him? It is clear they are losing, so they are talking about such things.”

The remarks come amid a heated election campaign, with the BJP focusing on security and national integrity, while accusing opposition parties of being soft on terrorism.
