BJP grieved over death of former Prime Minister Vajpayee: Altaf Thakur
SRINAGAR, AUG 16 (PTK): Expressing its heartfelt condolence over the demise of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the BJP State Spokesman Altaf Thakur termed Vajapayee a noble and gentle soul, who always worked for the national interests and a man who showed to the world the real essence of humanity. Thakur termed Vajpayee a great visionary who coined the terms of Insaniyat, Jhamooriyat, and Kashmiriyat for which he didn’t only earn the fame but a great respect from the people of Jammu and Kashmir but from the neighbouring country Pakistan as well.
In his condolence message, Thakur said that it was Vajpayee who set the base for a dialogue in Kashmir and roped in separatist leaders by announcing “anything within the ambit of humanity.” He said Vajpayee sent a message to Pakistan from Kashmir soil that friends can be changed but not neighbours and this reflects the farsightedness of the great leader. Thakur said under the guidance and vision of Vajpayee, India became the nuclear power in 1998.
Thakur said that it was Vajpayee, who took a big decision by announcing the start of Amritsar-Lahore bus service with a message of peace. Vajpayee, the BJP state spokesman said , was the main hero of Kargil war. The entire unit of BJP in Kashmir conveys their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and expresses solidarity with them. (PTK)
