Atal Dulloo visits Kulgam, interacts with organic farmers of district
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR KULGAM, AUGUST 27: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department (APD), Atal Dulloo today visited Kulgam district and interacted with organic farmers of village Wanigund here.
During the visit, the ACS also took stock of various interventions launched by the department for the promotion of organic cultivation of different agriculture crops under PMKVY.
Speaking on the occasion, Atal Dulloo impressed upon the officers to increase awareness among the farming community regarding the promotion of organic cultivation of different agriculture crops besides working shoulder to shoulder with the farmers who have already adopted organic way of cultivation.

During the interaction programme, Atal Dulloo also distributed incentives among the farmers of village Wanigund and appreciated their efforts for the promotion of organic way of cultivation. He assured the farmers of every possible support from the department for further strengthening of organic cultivation in the area.
Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal on the occasion briefed the ACS regarding various initiatives (including organic certification, marketing of organic produce, introduction of organic way of cultivation to newer areas)taken by the department to bring more and more area and farming families under organic crop production.
Earlier, the ACS also interacted with the saffron growers of Pampore and adjacent areas.
