Army starts vocational training centre for women in Ganderbal

 

This initiative will help us to become self dependent:- Local women

 

Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar:- Indian Army has inaugurated a vocational training centre in Ganderbal district on Sunday.

 

An official said that wusan Battalion in alignment with its continuous efforts towards empowering the local women of the area with self sustenance and independence, started a Vocational Training Centre for women of Kaloo Mohalla, Gund, Kangan sub division, Ganderbal District.

 

He said that the VTC will provide them with an opportunity to learn sewing and tailoring skills. Acquiring the skills will be useful for them to start their own tailoring setup in future and become self dependent. Total of 15 females of the area are undergoing training at the VTC.

 

Ms. Hakima Bano, DDC Gund Block, inaugrated the VTC and motivated the females to become self dependent and make a mark for themselves. The females thanked the Indian Army for

providing them with the much needed support to kick start the VTC, he added.

 

Meanwhile local women including DDC member on the occasion said that this initiative of Indian Army will help them to earn their livelihood and become self dependent.

 

They thanked Army for starting this training Institute and helping women to become self dependent.:-PTK.
