Max May Cross 44°C by May End in Jammu: Official
Jammu, May 22: With no respite from the intense heatwave, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that Jammu’s maximum temperature could exceed 44 degrees Celsius by the end of May.
An IMD official stated on Tuesday that no significant rainfall is expected, and the weather is likely to remain dry until the month’s end.
“As the daily temperatures hover between 41 to 42 degrees, it is anticipated that they may cross 44 degrees around May 27-28,” the official noted.
Historically, the maximum temperature recorded in Jammu on May 26, 1984, was 47.4 degrees, an all-time high. Recent records show:
