Crackdown on Election Violations: Cash and Liquor Worth Rs 29 Lakh Seized in JK
In a determined effort to maintain the integrity of the electoral process, enforcement teams in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir have been actively cracking down on violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Since the activation of the MCC, these vigilant teams have intercepted and seized cash and liquor amounting to a staggering Rs 29,51,630.
The District Election Officer of Kathua, also serving as the Returning Officer for the 4-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency, emphasized the unwavering commitment of these enforcement teams in upholding the sanctity of elections. “The vigilant enforcement teams have demonstrated infallible commitment to uphold the sanctity of electoral process,” he stated. He further emphasized the administration’s determination to promptly and decisively prevent any violations of the model code of conduct.
With the Lok Sabha elections underway, authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or breaches of the poll code to the relevant authorities.
