PM Modi Reveals Astronaut Team for India’s Historic Gaganyaan Mission

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant announcement on Tuesday, revealing the names of the pioneering pilots chosen for India’s inaugural manned space mission, ‘Gaganyaan’. The unveiling ceremony, held at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram, marked a historic milestone in India’s space exploration journey.

 

As official told News Agency Press Trust of Kashmir that, the distinguished pilots selected for this groundbreaking mission are Group Captain P Balakrishnan Nair, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, Group Captain Angad Pratap, and Wing Commander S Shukla. With their expertise and dedication, these individuals are poised to etch their names in the annals of space exploration history.

 

In a momentous gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi bestowed the coveted Astronaut wings upon the astronaut-designates, symbolizing their commitment to India’s ambitious endeavor. This elite cadre of Indian astronauts, comprising Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, Group Captain Angad Pratap, and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla, embodies the spirit of innovation and resilience that defines India’s space program.

 

The Gaganyaan project signifies India’s relentless pursuit of excellence in space exploration. Set against the backdrop of India’s burgeoning economy, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the dual significance of this momentous occasion. Upon their return, the astronauts continue their training at a state-of-the-art facility, equipped to simulate the conditions of space travel. In a testament to India’s holistic approach towards astronaut training, a specialized Yoga module has been incorporated into the physical training curriculum, highlighting the importance of mental and physical well-being in space exploration.
