SRINAGAR (PTK):- The intermittent rainfall lashed several parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, bringing down the mercury across the Union Territory while the weatherman here has predicted more rains till June 02.

Director Meteorological department (MeT), Sonum Lotus said that there is a possibility of intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning at many places.

The possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds at a few places during the period cannot be ruled out, he said.

Nonetheless, the Director MeT predicted improvement in the weather conditions from June 3 onwards, saying that there is no major forecast of any major rainfall in J&K.

“The weather would remain mainly dry but rain and thunderstorms at isolated places can’t be ruled out,” he said.

Moreover, Lotus issued advisory for the farmers, advising them to suspend all the farm operations till June 02, 2023.

He further stated that the possibility of rain and snow may lead to temporary disruption of traffic over vulnerable places. “All concerned are advised to remain cautious and alert,” he said.(PTK)
