Locals express gratitude to District Administration for resolving Sumo Stand issue amicably

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR BUDGAM, DECEMBER 03: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, S F Hamid today chaired Shehri Jan Abhiyan under ongoing ambitious My Town My Pride (MTMP) programme at Townhall Beerwah.

Speaking at the outset, the DC  said that the ambitious MTMP programme has been started under the vision of Hon’ble PM and guidance of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor- UT, for bringing government at the doorsteps of people and get real time feedback from them to bring improvement in governance.

He said that public from all urban areas are turning up in good numbers and attending these Jan Abhiyan programmes being held across all 6 Municipalities in Budgam.

Hundreds of people including traders, transporters and students attended the programme, where officers from various concerned departments apprised them about their public welfare and self-employment schemes.

He emphasized on concerned to ensure maximum public  participation in MTMP programmes for their contribution in speedy development of urban areas and avail maximum benefits of government schemes and receive on spot redressal to their issues.

Addressing students, the DC asked them to focus on both studies as well as co- curricular activities for their overall personality development.

The DC also visited Bus Stand Beerwah and held deliberations with traders and transporters for amicable resolution of shifting of Sumo Stand for decongestion and smooth plying of traffic in the Town area.

He stressed on smooth movement of vehicles and urged transporters to ensure both parking and boarding and de-boarding be allowed at only designated spots to avoid traffic jams.

Meanwhile, locals appreciated the District Administration Budgam for resolving the issue amicably.

The Shehri Jan Abhiyan programmes were also organised by other Municipalities where a series of activities including sports, cultural, special sanitation drives, awareness regarding eligibility of pensionary cases, self employment and other public welfare schemes were held.
