Police arrests notorious drug peddler in Budgam; Contraband substance recovered
Press Trust Of Kashmir Srinagar November 04: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police in Budgam have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A Police party of PP Soibugh during patrolling at Warpora Soibugh, intercepted a suspicious person who on seeing police party tried to flee from the spot but police party apprehended him tactfully. He has been identified as Zahid Ahmad Rather son of Gh Nabi Rather resident of Nasrulahpora Budgam. During search, 10 grams of Heroin was recovered from his possession. Subsequently, he was shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR number 376/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation has been initiated.
Pertinent to mention here that the arrested accused person is a notorious drug peddler who used to sell the drugs among the youth of Soibugh and adjoining areas.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
