Lt Gen Anup Banerji appointed as first ED AIIMS Awantipora
Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar:- Lt Gen Anup Banerji has been appointed as the first Executive Director All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Awantipora, Kashmir.
Besides Anup Banerji, government has appointed Executive Directors of Six more AIIMS in different states of India.
“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Health & Family Welfare for appointment to the posts of Executive Director, All India Institute of Medical Sciences at (1) Bhopal (ii) Bhubaneshwar (ii) Patna (iv) Rishikesh (v) Guwahati (vi) Awantipora, and (vii) Darbhanga, in Level 15 of the Pay Matrix plus admissible NPA, on deputation/short term contract/contract basis, for a period of 03 years wef the date of assumption of charge of the post (which may further be extended upto 05 years), or till the incumbent attains the age of 70 years, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.” Reads the order issued by Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Government of India, a copy of which lies with PTK
As per order the proposed mode of appointment of Lt Gen Anup Banerji who has got superannuated on 31 December 2020 will be on contract basis.
It is pertinent to mention here that Lt Gen Anup Banerji has worked at various prestigious posts including Director General, Armed Forces Medical Services (DG AFMS).
An alumnus of the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, the General Officer is reputed to be an outstanding cardiologist and an exceptional administrator. He has held various important clinical and staff positions during his illustrious career in AFMS. These include Head of the Department of Medicine and Cardiology at MH CTC Pune and Army Hospital R&R, Consultant (Medicine and Cardiology) at CH (EC), MG (Med) MG & G Area, Comdt AMC Centre and College Lucknow and DGMS (Navy).
Lt Gen Banerji was awarded the Sena Medal for his distinguished service in 1986. He was appointed President’s Honorary Surgeon (PHS) on January 27, 2019. Lt Gen Anup Banerji has served as the DGMS (Army) as well.:-PTK.
