Pre-dawn Gunfight breaks out in Anantnag Village

Anantnag, 24 Dec (PTK): A Predawn Gunfight rages between militants and goverment forces in Mumanhal Arwani area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.

Official sources told Press Trust Of Kashmir (PTK) that a joint of team of police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area after receiving specific inputs about presence of militants movement .

He adds that as the joint team of security forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated triggering off an encounter between government forces and militants.

Meanwhile Kashmir zone police also informed through a tweet that #Encounter has started at Mumanhal (Arwani), area of #Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice. (PTK)
