Missing minor found dead in Kupwara village

SRINAGAR: A minor boy, Umar Farooq son of  Farooq Ahmad Malik who was missing from his native village near Kupwara town has been found dead in Hanjipora village.

“The news has sent the whole village into instant mourning and anger. People are out on the streets and some are rushing towards Umar’s home,” residents accessed by phone said. “A group and young boys and elders have gone to the Hanjipora village to retrieve the body.”

The immediate crisis is the circulation of photographs of a charred body of a boy on social media. This body is being passed as that of Umar.

Umar was a student of third primary in Usmania Public School in Kupwara town. (PTK)
