DM Ganderbal Issues advisory for general public 

 

Says not to venture out in hilly and landslide prone areas till weather improves

 

Ganderbal, 22 Oct (PTK) : In view of inclement weather predicted by Metrological department, The District Magistrate of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district here on friday issues an advisory for the general public to remain cautious and not to venture out in slopes, hilly areas or flood/landslide prone areas till weather improves and co-operate with Administration during this period.

 

According to a statement issued to press trust of Kashmir (PTK) that reads “in view of the weather advisory issued by Indian Metrological Department vide

No. WS(Adv)-01/ dated 20/10/2021, an active Western Disturbance will most likely

affect J&K from 22nd October(evening) to 24th October with peak activity on

23rd October”.

 

Under the influence of this system, Widespread Moderate rain/snow is expected in J&K during 22nd to 24th October. And there is possibility of light snow in plains, moderate snow in middle reaches and heavy snow at isolated places over higher reaches of Kashmir Division.

 

As such, the general public of district Ganderbal especially

those residing in Kangan Sub-Division, Lar, Watlar, Waliwar, Chountwaliwar,

Chanthangulabpora and those living in the higher reaches of the district are advised to

remain cautious and not to venture out in slopes, hilly areas or flood/landslide prone

areas till weather improves.

 

Furthermore, it is impressed upon all the concerned departments i.e Police, SDRF,

Tehsildars, I&FC/R&B/PHE/KPDCL/PMGSY/Mechanical Eng./Beacon & MC Ganderbal to closely remain coordinated during this period.

 

Pertinently to mention here that the Metrological department predicted widespread Moderate rain/snow is in J&K during 22nd to 24th October.

 

The meteorological department official early also said that there is possibility of light snow in plains, moderate snow in middle reaches and heavy snow at isolated places over higher reaches of Kashmir Division from 22nd evening to 24th October. (PTK)
