Militant involved in Sumo Driver’s killing slain in Gundjahangir gunfight 

Press Trust of Kashmir | Bandipora : A Lashkar-e-Toiba (TRF) militant was killed in an encounter between government forces and militants in Gundjahangir Hajin village of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday morning. Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that LeT militant killed in the gunfight was involved in recent killing of Sumo Driver at Shahgund.

 

Earlier official sources told Press Trust Of Kashmir (PTK) that a joint team of army and police jointly launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Gundjahangir village following credible inputs of militants movement in the area.

 

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.

 

The police said that one militant has been killed in Gundjahangir Hajin gunfight on early morning of monday.

 

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar wrote through a tweet on official twitter handle of Police , “Killed militant has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar affiliated with proscribed militant outfit LeT (TRF).
