People of Kashmir have understood the game of separatists: Army

People of Kashmir need not worry about situation along LoC: Lt Gen DP Pandey

SRINAGAR, SEP 27 (PTK): The Indian Army on Monday said the people of Kashmir are happy as they understand the game played by separatist leaders in the Valley.

General Officer Commanding of the Army’s 15 Corps, Lt Gen DP Pandey, popularly known as Chinar Corps, told the media on the sidelines of a function at Boniyar, Uri in Baramulla’s northern district that there was a peaceful atmosphere in the entire region

Lt Gen Pandey said, “The people of Kashmir are very happy and they understand the game played by the separatists. Hardly anyone is with them and today the situation is very good.”

Lt Gen Pandey further said that the slightest mischief will continue on the LoC and the army is fully prepared to deal with it. “The number of tourists is increasing and booking in hotels is also good. The situation in the entire region is quite peaceful,” he said.

His remarks came a day after the India Air Force (IAF) organized an air show – ‘Give Wings to Your Dreams’ – as part of the ongoing celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The event was inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in front of the team at Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Center (SKICC).

IAF’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Display Team displayed its formation flying prowess while the Chinook helicopter also displayed its capability. This was the first aerial demonstration of its kind organized by the Indian Air Force after a gap of 13 years in Srinagar.

The show was organized to encourage youth to enter the aviation sector and boost tourism in the Valley. According to officials, a large number of school and college students attended the show. (PTK)
