Srinagar encounter: Militant killed, ops on

Srinagar, Oct 12 (PTK)- one unidentified militant has been killed in ongoing gunfight between miltants and security forces in Rambagh area of Central Kashmir’s srinagar district,police said.

A senior police officer said that one unidentified miltant has been killed, however, his identity is yet to be ascertained and operation is on in the area.

Earlier an official said that a joint team of Police,and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Rambagh after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot,the hiding militants fired upon them.The fire was retaliated by the joint team,triggering off an encounter.
